The Cinderella of the tournament still wears the glass slipper. Scott Hartnell was the #6 seed in the recently departed division, but here he is among 3 #1 seeds in the semis. Bob has faced other highly popular players and come out on top each time.
Semifinal 2: Scott Hartnell vs. Sergei Bobrovsky
Hartnell:
Scott Hartnell waived his no-trade clause to come to Columbus in 2014. He was joining a team coming off a playoff appearance, and he thought he was joining a contender. Despite injuries and other struggles on the roster over the next two seasons, Hartnell remained a steady, productive presence on the ice as he smoothly matured into an elder statesman role in the locker room. Finally in his third season he was rewarded with another playoff appearance. Unfortunately for him the team’s success cost him playing time and he was let go at the end of the season. Still he loves Columbus, and Columbus still loves him.
Bobrovsky:
Bob is Bob. His outstanding goaltending turned heads from the beginning. As his English has improved, his personality has won hearts.
