Cleveland Monsters, 28-27-3-4, 63 points, 6th Central, 11th West
vs
Chicago Wolves, 37-17-7-3, 84 points, 2nd Central, 4th West
The Wolves come into Cleveland hot on a 13 game point-streak. They sit squarely in the second spot in the division and it doesn't look like they will be moving any time soon. It would behoove the Monsters to win both games this week. For this set of games, winning in regulation doesn't matter nearly as much as getting the win.
Kenny Agostino and Wade Megan are two players the Monsters will have to keep an eye on at all times. They excel on both the power play and penalty kill. We all know one of the Monsters achilles tendon is the power play. So, they'll have to play a tight and crisp game whether they are at even strength or not tonight.
James Wisniewski will be back in Ohio for the first time since coming back to America. Knowing Wisniewski, if anyone from the Blue Jackets front office is in the house, he will put on a show to make them regret trading him to Anaheim for Karlsson.
Earlier today, the Monsters released Alexander Petan and Kyle Thomas from their PTO contracts. This leads me to wonder if Alex Broadhurst will be back in the line up for the Monsters. He is another player the team has been desperately missing.
While I would like to see Thiessen start tonight, I think Forsberg will get the start in net. Coach Madden had a lot of nice things to say about him in Saturday's post game presser. He even went so far as to call him their “go-to guy”.
