NCAA hockey appears to be shifting into super conferences in the wake of the Big Ten announcing they’ll form a new conference in 2013-2014. This could start making life very, very hard for smaller schools who want to keep Division 1 hockey programs running.

The Florida Panthers were the top spender, by far, in free agency. But the Jackets were no slouches either – check out this neat look at how teams spent (and how many years were laid out) from July 1 to July 8.

That’ll do for today. Have a good rest of your weekend, and we’ll be back with more on Monday!
