Milwaukee Admirals; 18-13-4-0, 40 points, .571 win%, 3rd Central, 6th West

Tonight the Cleveland Monsters and Milwaukee Admirals meet for the sixth of an eight-game series.

The Monsters had a strong showing against the Admirals at the beginning of the season winning their first two games, 5-3 and 3-1. During their last two meetings, the Admirals seemed to be a different team. They were no longer the same group of players the Monsters showed dominance over at the start of the season.

“I think their (Admirals) compete level picked up. The three games we played against them we definitely were the better team. In terms of compete and execution, I think they picked their game up.” – Head Coach John Madden

With a loss, the Admirals could possibly fall into fourth or fifth place in the division. This game will be incredibly aggressive. The Admirals will start the game fast and furious.

Bobby Butler’s drive to crack the USMNT Olympic roster propelled him to the top of the Admirals leaderboard in goals and points. Things didn’t slow down once he made the Olympic squad. In fact, his hunger for a gold medal has transferred to the AHL. Butler will be the number one guy to shut down tonight.

Joonas Korpisalo was sent to the Monsters yesterday and will start in net.

After taking a skate to the groin on Sunday, Brady Austin is questionable for tonight’s game. Dean Kukan has yet to be returned to Cleveland which means Doyle Somerby will likely crack the lineup tonight as a defender.

Cleveland must stop taking soft penalties in the waning minutes of the game. In general, they should keep penalties to a minimum. Although, the Monsters play phenomenally when they have the two-man disadvantage.
