The Cleveland Monsters came alive Friday winning their first game of the season against the Manitoba Moose. After losing their home opener, the Moose are going to be on the hunt to win in front of their fans.

As we saw in Friday night’s game, Kyle Connor and Jack Roslovic are a deadly pair to have on the ice. The key to shutting them down is to not let them leave the Monsters’ offensive zone. Once they have a path in mind to get to the net, they’ll take the puck to the house. Especially, if Connor or Roslovic get a breakaway.

Other than the fight between Justin Scott and Brendan Lemieux, there was not much bad blood between the two squads.

However, Darren Kramer served the last of his suspension on Friday. If he plays this afternoon, we will see if last seasons rumble is still on the minds of both the Moose and Monsters.

The special teams looked good on Friday. They need to keep the momentum rolling into this afternoon’s game. If they can play tight and clean on the power play and penalty kill, the Monsters will have the upper hand.
