Well, the 2017 Trade Deadline has come and gone. The Columbus Blue Jackets made two trades yesterday, the first sending Dalton Prout to the New Jersey Devils for Kyle Quincey, and the second sending Dillon Heatherington to the Dallas Stars for Lauri Korpikoski. The Minnesota Wild, meanwhile, swung for the fences this season in their bid to go all in for the Stanley Cup. The Wild acquired Martin Hanzal, Ryan White, and a 4th round pick for a 2017 first rounder, a 2018 second rounder, a conditional 4th round pick in 2019 (that can become a second round pick), and minor league player Grayson Downing.

After all of the trades, there’s hockey to be played. Tonight, the JAckets play host to the Wild in their second and final meeting of the season. You’ll remember the first matchup as the 14th win of The Streak, and as the night the Blue Jackets outscored the Ohio State Buckeyes on New Year’s Eve.

It’s not certain if either of the new players the Blue Jackets acquired yesterday will appear in the lineup today. This post will be updated if news comes out that they will. Expect to see Sergei Bobrovsky in net, dueling against Devan Dubnyk in a showdown of Vezina contenders.

UPDATE

Korpikoski and Quincey will both play tonight. Korpikoski for Harrington in the forward lines, Quincey for Nutivaara. Bobrovsky does indeed get the start.
