Franklin County Commissioners Preparing For Arena Vote?

After the Columbus City Council unanimously passed the proposal to turn Nationwide into a publicly owned facility, the next step to resolving the arena issues is on the Franklin County Commissioners to approve or deny the measure. Having waited for the legal documentation to be finalized, the Suburban News is reporting that the County Prosecutor’s office should receive the paperwork by the end of the month, with hopes for the Commissioners to vote by the beginning of November. The Commissioners have previously come out in support of the measure, so it seems like this is simply a matter of making sure all the paperwork matches up before signing off.

With Columbus mayor Michael Coleman already on board, this is the last big hurdle – here’s hoping it can be cleared quickly, and give a bit of a good news to what has been a much rockier start to the season than anyone anticipated.
