Sergei Bobrovsky, longtime Columbus Blue Jackets netminder, has officially moved on to the Florida Panthers. On the first day of free agency, he signed a seven year deal worth a reported $9.5 million per season.
After his refusal to commit to an extension last summer, fans have been bracing for the inevitable, and on the first day of free agency, we have it.

Sergei Bobrovsky came to the Blue Jackets via trade in June 2012 for a second round pick and two fourth round picks. Bobrovsky played 374 games for the Blue Jackets, posting a 213-130-27 record. He registered a .921 save percentage, a 2.41 goals against average, and posted 33 shutouts as he won the Vezina Trophy twice. He was a two time All Star.
Bobrovsky struggled in the playoffs during his time here, which contributed to some tension with the front office and coaching staff. He ends his career here with an 11-16 record in the playoffs, along with a .908 save percentage and a 3.03 goals against average. Bobrovsky will make his return to Columbus on New Year’s Eve.
