The Cleveland Monsters roll back into Quicken Loans tonight to take on the WBS Penguins.
Cleveland is hoping to turn a three-game win-streak into four.
The Penguins have only played one game beating the Springfield Thunderbirds, 3-2, in a shootout. As of right now, their biggest downfall is the power play. On Saturday, they went 0-5 while there was an extra man on the ice.
Speaking of power play, the Monsters’ pp is still a little sketch. The best unit consists of Zac Dalpe, Nathan Gerbe, and Alex Broadhurst. The second unit needs to up their game or else the Penguins will be all over them like butter on a roll.
The Monsters need to play a full 60 minutes of hockey. On Monday’s game against the Marlies, the Monsters play got a little sloppy in the third compared to the two games prior.
Dalpe and Eric Robinson are both on a hot streak right now. Sooner or later, teams will start finding ways to shut them down. As long as the team doesn’t fall into the trap of passing the puck to just those two, then the Monsters will be just fine.
