Today in the “A”: Unclear Day

Clear Day has come and gone in the “A”. And with it, the day becomes a bit less clear for some of those players who were not a part of the season’s final rosters.

In Springfield, there were six players left off the list. They are forwards Aaron Bogosian, Ryan Garlock, Nathan Longpre, Adam Mair, and Tim Spencer. Defenseman Anton Blomqvist was also not on the Clear Day roster.

To clarify, the season is not necessarily over for these six players. However, they will be ineligible to dress unless the Falcons roster has suffered injury or callup that necessitates any of them in the lineup.

Also, as college and junior players finish up their seasons, some may find some regular playing time with Springfield. Think of Allen York, Paul Dainton, Anton Blomqvist and Wade MacLeod at the end of last season.

What the Clear Day roster means by including Cam Atkinson, John Moore and Ryan Russell is that they are eligible to play for the Falcons at any point down the stretch and potentially, in the playoffs. Their presence is solely dependent on when the Blue Jackets choose to send them down. It is also possible that they won’t play here at all.

Last thing this morning, in a game last night, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers defeated the Worcester Sharks 3-2 in regulation. Although it results in two more points for the Northeast Division leading Sound Tigers, more importantly to the Falcons was that Worcester, clinging to the eighth playoff spot got nothing for their effort. Rhett Rakhshani notched his 11th and 12th goals to pace Bridgeport.
