The Cannon Cast Episode 78: Blue Jackets dispatch Leafs, earn Lightning rematch

Well, that was quite a first week in the bubble, wasn’t it? The Columbus Blue Jackets survived a wild qualifying series against the Toronto Maple Leafs and find themselves facing a Tampa Bay Lightning team hell-bent on revenge for last year’s historic sweep. On this episode of the Cannon Cast, we talk about how the CBJ were able to gut out a series win over the Leafs, what it means for the franchise, and what we expect from the first round series against the Lightning—plus our predictions for who moves on to round two. We also discuss:

  • What surprised us about the series?
  • How good were the CBJ goaltenders?
  • What did we learn about the culture of the CBJ?
  • What were we thinking going into Game 5?
  • Who was the MVP of the series?
  • What’s different about this year’s Columbus-Tampa Bay series?/

Plus a lot more!
