Sonny Milano accepts qualifying offer, reaches deal with Blue Jackets

It was announced early Monday afternoon that Blue Jackets forward Sonny Milano has accepted his qualifying offer from the team for one year, $874,125.

I don’t think he was in line to make much more than he did, but it’s a good idea on Milano’s part to take the offer and see how how the rest plays out. You’ll remember his little incident recently.

Milano appeared in eight games at the NHL level last season, registering one goal. In 27 games for AHL Cleveland, he put up 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists), and another 10 points (two goals, eight assists) for the Monsters’ playoff run over eight games. Now that Milano has agreed to a deal, there’s just the big fish on the team still to sort out.
