So thats a win huh? Well sumbitch…

The feeling of getting a big win at home like that was…amazing, in a packed house no less. Its just proof that the city is behind their team through all the bad times. Stay classy, Columbus!

And away we go!

BlueJackets Xtra:

Here’s a look back at the trade that sent Chimmer to Washington.

Probable lines:

CBJ. I’m interested to see how Clark fits in with Pahlsson and Modin.

Nothing listed for the Islanders.. Hm. I guess this means they’re not coming to play?

A handful of memories from last night’s game.

Has the message been sent? I know its only one win but damn it feels good.

From Puck-rakers:

More on the Chimera trade. Includes some of his thoughts on the move. It really puts into perspective how much he loved being in Columbus. Best of luck #25!

Porty’s side dishes are a good quick read. If you were Mason, what would’ve been going through your head if you were in his seat?

BlueJackets TV:

GM Scott Howson on the trade. He talks Jurcina, Clark, and where they should fit in. Plus the potential for more trades in the future.

For those of you who missed the game (i.e. me) here are the game highlights. Both goalies played one hell of a game. Incredible.

Mase. I hear A-Ha’s “Take On Me” in the background. Thanks, Jakub.

NHL.com:

Steve Mason earns a third star honor for his 12th career shutout.

Game recap. Jimmy Howard has some nice things to say about his Columbus counterpart. I’m looking forward to their future match-ups.

Yahoo! Sports:

Steve Mason and Jimmy Howard receive honorable mention for their performances last night. No Freddy Mo though? First goal of the year, and game winner in OT, against Detroit? Compelling stuff.

Our old pal Pascal Leclaire had himself a doozy of a night. He gave up the 20,000th goal scored by Montreal, but made 29 saves to lead the Sens to a victory.
