The Cleveland Monsters and Toronto Marlies meet for the third time this season tonight. The last time the two played, the game had to be settled in a shootout. I would suspect tonight’s game will also be a close one. Neither team wants to lose this one. The Marlies are last in both the division and conference. While the Monsters want to climb back into second place in the division.
Both the Monsters and Marlies have trouble coming back to win when thy are trailing after two periods of play. If the Monsters want to come out on top, they will need to maintain control of the game for all 60 minutes. Which means the Monsters need to roll their special team units and lines tonight. If the Monsters get tired, the Marlies will likely use that to their advantage.
Tonight, the Monsters will need to play more of a man-to-man game. Not one person on the Marlies can be trusted to be left alone. They are all dangerous in their own right.
