NHL Power Rankings – Never Give Up, Never Surrender

The Power Rankings are now out. Keep in mind they were posted within the last few days so they might not reflect the current records of the league.

The Blue Jackets are still trying to string together a few wins to really jump up the standings. With the West as tight as it is, a 3 or 4-game win streak will go a long way. The last week of games have really put a scare into everyone. Is this team a first-quarter wonder? Was last year just a fluke? Can the Power Play be salvaged and turned back to respectable? We’ll know soon enough.

CARRY THE FLAG!!!

GO JACKETS!!!

ESPN – 19th out of 30 (Last week: 17th; updated: 12/13/10; record: 16-11-1)

TSN – 18th out of 30 (Last week: 16th; updated: 12/13/10; record: 16-11-1)

“When the Blue Jackets were rolling, Derick Brassard and Jakub Voracek were productive on a line with Rick Nash, but the young forwards have combined for just three points in the last six games.”

CBS Sports – 20th out of 30 (Last week: 21st; updated: 12/13/10; record: 16-11-1)

“Time to scrap those new third jerseys. The Jackets are 0-4 in them and have been outscored 18-5.”

Fox Sports – 13th out of 30 (Last week: 12th; updated: 12/14/10; record: 16-11-2)

“Rick Nash carried the Blue Jackets in Week 10. The 26-year-old posted six points in three games for Columbus, including five in the team’s two wins.”

The Hockey News – 17th out of 30 (Last week: 12th; updated: 12/13/10; record: 16-11-1)

“Rusty Klesla a team-best plus-18; his career high is plus-7”

The Bleacher Report – 20th out of 30 (Last week: 19th; updated: 12/13/10; record: 16-11-1)

“The Jackets are a large question mark. In the last five games, Columbus has wins over Dallas and New York, but has also been blown out three times.”

Will the Blue Jackets make any impactful deals before the trade deadline?
