Game #54 QuickCap: Blue Jackets beat Florida Panthers in overtime

The Jackets returned home after their win over the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday to take on the Florida Panthers. The Panthers, in town after a win over the Toronto Maple Leafs, were looking to get Sergei Bobrovsky his second win over the Jackets this season.

Here’s what just went down.

First Period

A Boone Jenner shot found the back of the net before being called back due to goaltender interference. Both teams had 25 chances, but neither was able to break the ice in the first period.

Second Period

Both teams had power play chances and continued to trade chances up and down the ice. Still, the goaltenders were equal to the task. Both teams remained scoreless through 40 minutes on the ice.

Third Period

Still no scoring. Shocker.

Overtime

Zach Werenski wins it. Of course he does. Nothing like sticking it to your former goaltender.

Final

Florida Panthers 0 Columbus Blue Jackets 1

Full recap to come in the morning.
