Game 52 Open Thread: Operation: Beat the Oilers

This is going to be really quick, I’m in the middle of moving and re-wiring some electric heat registers and I want to finish before the game!

The Jackets host the Oilers tonight at Nationwide. The Jackets managed to not only beat, but shut out division-rival Detroit last night. It was a feel-good victory, and the Jackets absolutely must follow up that win with a victory over the last-place Oilers tonight.

The Oilers have players that can score, there’s no doubting that. That said, they can be contained quite easily, and their defense is prone to mistakes (sound familiar?). The Jackets will go with a slightly different lineup tonight, as rookie John Moore makes his NHL debut. I would expect that he slides into the lineup in place of Anton Stralman. Also, it remains to be seen whether or not Kristian Huselius returns to the lineup after being a healthy scratch last night.

This is looking like an exciting game. I’m excited to see Moore play, I know we’re all hoping for a Clitsome-esque impact!

Go Jackets.
