Dubinsky’s Match Penalty Rescinded

Some good news today for you – per the Columbus Dispatch, the NHL reviewed the call from last night and made the decision to rescind the match penalty to Brandon Dubinsky – probably thanks to the video that clearly shows Drew Doughty skating up behind Dubi and sucker punching him in the back of the head.

Of course, no suspension to Doughty for an illegal (and quite dirty) hit to the head, but at least justice was mostly served.

Meanwhile, the Jackets prepare for Sunday’s game against San Jose, while fans in Columbus watch the standings. The only game in the West that affects their odds are the Blues vs. the Stars – not surprisingly, we’re rooting for St. Louis and we’re rooting for a regulation win.

Still not word on if the team will be calling up someone to replace the injured Matt Calvert – the plan may be to see if Artem Anisimov feels ready to play after practice on Saturday. If so, he’s likely to draw into the lineup, though I’m sure the team will monitor his minutes carefully.
