Burmistrov is a talented center with the Barrie Colts of the OHL. He is one of the few Russians who made the jump overseas to play Canadian junior. He had a very good year for the Colts, and solidified himself as a top prospect for this year's draft. I believe Burmistrov is truly committed to North America, he is learning English and doesn't take any shifts off.

Scouting Report (Barrie Colts Coach Marty Williamson):
"He's got a great hockey IQ, and is a wonderful skater. He has a habit of playing well above his size and has a great feel for timing on the ice. He battles hard and is continually working on his shot to become an effective scorer, but he is a great passer and has great vision on the ice."
Why he'd be a good fit in Columbus:
As noted in previous profiles, the Jackets long term needs are on defense and at center. Burmistrov is a very talented playmaking centre, who could compliment Brassard as the scoring line pivots. The Russian factor is there, but I get chills at the thought of he and Filatov paired together.
