Blue Jackets acquire Artemi Panarin: Report
Didn’t see that one coming.
Brandon Saad is being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks as part of a larger trade that would see the Columbus Blue Jackets acquire Artemi Panarin. Just after noon, news broke:

And Panarin played 82 games last season, scoring 31 goals and 43 assists on Patrick Kane’s wing. In his 2 year career, he has 61 goals and 90 assists.
Panarin is currently signed to a 2 year, $12 million dollar contract that gives the Blue Jackets control over the player through the 2018-19 season.
Final details of the trade are as follows:
Columbus gets: Artemi Panarin, Tyler Motte, 6th round pick
Chicago gets: Brandon Saad, Anton Forsberg, 5th round pick
