Blue Jackets announce signing of Marko Dano

It’s August, otherwise known as the quietest time of the year on the NHL calendar. But on Thursday, the Blue Jackets made news with an acquisition!

Former Blue Jacket Marko Dano is coming back to town after agreeing to terms on a one-year, two-way deal.

Originally drafted by Columbus in 2013, Dano, still just 24-years-old, has also spent time with the Blackhawks, Jets, and Avalanche, producing 19 goals, 26 assists for 45 points across 138 career games. He played 35 games for Columbus in the 2014-15 season, registering 21 points (8-13).

I thought back in the day that Dano had a bright future, and while that maybe stalled a little bit during his initial Blue Jackets tenure — well, he was traded to the Blackhawks in the deal for Brandon Saad — he will have a tremendous opportunity to make waves this fall with some roster spots up for grabs in Columbus!
