A Weekend Edition of Cannon Blasts

Well, I seem to have missed my posts on links during the week, though Mike did hit some thoughts earlier in the week. With that said, here’s a weekend edition for ya!

  • Perhaps you missed this during the week (five game win streak and all, and potentially pooping your pants because of said win streak), but Columbus unveiled its plans for an All-Star Winter Park for ASG weekend. This adds on to an already great lineup of events, including the NHL Fan Fair, the All-Star Game itself, and the Skills Competition.
  • Like I said, it should be a great weekend. The Hockey Writers discuss what else is in store for fans.
  • Though the Falcons lost this week, they’ve been on some kind of roll. Anton Forsberg has apparently been in beast mode.
  • Reports are out on possible 2016 Winter Classic locations. Boston appears to be the favorite, with Minnesota and Denver potentially on tap for the Stadium Series. For now, it looks like CBJ fans will have to wait until at least 2017 to get an outdoor game in Columbus.
  • A look at the goalie styles of both Bobrovsky and Steve Mason – it’s pretty interesting.
  • BONUS – THIS. IS. AWESOME.
  • DOUBLE BONUS – To no one’s surprise, the CBJ lead the NHL in Man Games Lost. Note – this was before the win over the Caps./

The Pens come into Nationwide on Saturday, and it looks like Fleury is getting the nod tonight, so perhaps Thomas Greiss will be in net for Pittsburgh.
