2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Blue Jackets Injury Update Lists Ryan Murray and Lukas Sedlak “Day to Day”

This afternoon, the Columbus Blue Jackets released a lineup update that included a bit of an injury update for Ryan Murray and Lukas Sedlak.

With Murray and Sedlak now listed as day-to-day rather than week-to-week, it is possible that we could see one or both of them play at some point in this series.

Murray’s loss has been more pronounced, forcing John Tortorella to jumble his defensive pairing. Though the former second overall pick has been playing mostly on the third pairing this season, his presence next to Markus Nutivaara has been critical. He has registered 2-9-11 in 60 games this season.

Sedlak, meanwhile, has registered 7-6-13 in his rookie season. The center is also one of the better faceoff takers on the team, winning 52.4% of his draws this year.

Hopefully, with both players now listed as day-to-day, they can return to the team and contribute sooner rather than later. These updates, along with the return of Zach Werenski to the lineup, means that the Blue Jackets are finally getting healthy just in time for the grind of the playoffs.
