2017 NHL All-Star Game preview & how to watch

Here’s how to watch Sunday’s festivities.

Tonight is the NHL All Star Game. Like last season, it features a 3 on 3 format with a $1 million prize to be paid to the winning team. The Metropolitan Division team features three Columbus Blue Jackets: Cam Atkinson, Seth Jones, and Sergei Bobrovsky. Unfortunately, a family emergency has kept head coach John Tortorella from attending the game.

The game will feature 2 20 minute semifinal games (with teams switching ends at the ten minute mark). If the game is tied after 20 minutes, it will be decided by a shootout.

The two semifinal winners will play a 20 minute game under the same rules to determine the champion of the All Star Game, and who will take home the $1 million.

The All Star Game will be aired on Sunday, Jan. 29, 3:30 p.m. EST on NBC. The game can also be streamed on NBC Sports Live.
