I have never felt older than writing the a birthday in the year 1999. Martin Necas is a Czech prospect who is ranked among the top ten prospects for this upcoming draft. In his first professional season this year in the Czech Extraliga, Necas registered 7-8-15 in 41 games played despite turning 18 part of the way through the season. Necas is known for his skating ability, and he is ranked by NHL Central Scouting as the 5th best European skater in the draft.

In the World Junior Championships this year, Necas registered 1-2-3 in 5 games played for the Czechs. His stock has soared as a resulted of his skating ability and his ability to play a smooth, positionally sound game. Necas is projected to be a top ten draft pick in this upcoming draft.

Scouting Report

Offensively, Nečas sees the ice extremely well, and thinks the game at a very high level. When combined with his agility, he can open up a lot of ice for himself and his teammates and create very creative passing lanes that a less agile and less skilled player wouldn’t be able to. His shot is also very effective, as he gets a very quick, accurate release on both his wrist and snapshot, with a lot of velocity. – Winging It In Motown
