The Cannon Cast Episode 111: All the good vibes gone

Last week, we were pretty upbeat about the Columbus Blue Jackets and they were starting to pull us back in. They had come off two consecutive wins at the Carolina Hurricanes in overtime and shootout and we thought ‘here they come.’

After a week that saw them garner just one measly point and getting swept — thoroughly outplayed at the Detroit Red Wings — the good vibes are long gone. The Jackets have slipped to sixth in the Central Division and the Nashville Predators have roared back with five-straight victories to take the last playoff spot.

Losers of four in a row, Columbus now finds themselves just one win ahead of the Red Wings in the standings, and six points above the Central Division basement.

On this week’s edition of The Cannon Cast we get into:

  • A pathetic display in Detroit
  • Sell for the future
  • Roster movement
  • Still better than the Buffalo Sabres/

and much more!

Our theme music is the song “Green Eyes,” by Angela Perley and the Howlin’ Moons off of their album “Homemade Vision.” Angela’s newest album is called “4:30” and you should listen to it! Check her out at angelaperley.com, and you should also check out Angela Perley on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for videos and live-streamed concerts from her home during this stay-at-home period.

We’re on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and a whole lot more, so check us out on iTunes here or search “Cannon” and “SB Nation” on Apple Podcasts. Leave us a review and a rating!
