The Columbus Blue Jackets lost 3-0 to the Calgary Flames. The team had just nine quality chances on 43 shots on goal and generally were outplayed all over the ice.
The Blue Jackets 43 shots on goal tonight are tied for 3rd-most in #CBJ history for a shutout against. The most recent shutout of 43-plus saves was on Oct. 19, 2017 vs. Tampa Bay (Vasilevskiy, 44). It’s the first time #CBJ have been shutout this season (6x in 2018-19).

Sonny Milano took a penalty in the offensive zone and as a result saw 26 seconds in the second period. Torts blended the lines, as he is wont to do, and ended up putting Pierre-Luc Dubois on the fourth line.
These appear to be the new lines, for now:
Foligno-Jenner-Atkinson
Bemstrom-Wennberg-Bjorkstrand
Nyquist-Nash-Sherwood

Also, Milan Lucic attacked Kole Sherwood and should be suspended.

There’s not much to talk about from this game, honestly. The Jackets no showed and there are no highlights to speak of. Instead, lets have a look at some puns about the loss:
Will Chase: Jackets suffer 3rd degree burns
Elaine Shircliff: Jackets procure third degree burns in dumpster fire loss to Flames
MrSwift13: Jackets get burned at the stake
Will Chase: Jackets burned to death
Pale Dragon: Jackets flame out vs Calgary
The Columbus Blue Jackets have now lost six of their last eight games.
They’ll look to right the ship Tuesday night as they take on the Vegas Golden Knights. Faceoff is set for 7 PM in Nationwide Arena.
There’s not much else to say about this one. The Jackets got thoroughly outplayed and never really looked like they were going to get back into this one once they fell behind early. Something needs to change with this team, quickly, before the season gets away from them.
