Worcester Sharks Get a Taste of JAM

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault made his debut in a Falcons sweater memorable by notching a hatty and assisting on the other goal as the Falcons dropped the Worcester Sharks 4-3.

Playing as a rookie for the Connecticut Whale last season, JAM scored 24 goals and added 40 assists for 64 points. Of those 64 points, 19 came against the Falcons.

The other Falcons goal was picked up by Ryan Johansen, also making his debut in a Falcons sweater (for the pre-season contest the Falcons wore their road blues). Johan was assisted by, you guessed it: JAM.

Paul Dainton played the whole game for Springfield in the goal, while Mike Clemente served as his backup.

Like many pre-season tilts, this one saw plenty of fists-a-flying with seven separate brawls. Featured on the card were heavyweights Greg Amadio, Cody Bass and Tim Spencer. Also “holden” his own was a returning Nick Holden. Former Shark Nathan Moon also found an element of revenge in dropping the mitts for his new club.

The Falcons return to the MassMutual Center ice tonight at 7PM. They’ll be wrapping up the pre-season against the Providence Bruins. The regular season opens up next Saturday night when the St. John’s IceCaps come to town.
