Tyler Wright Leaving the Blue Jackets
Tyler Wright is moving on from the Blue Jackets after being offered a new position, which he declined.
Jarmo Kekalainen was hired primarily for his abilities to scout amateur talent. At the time of his hiring, Tyler Wright was entrenched as the Director of Amateur Scouting, and he kept this position until today. He was offered a different role in the organization unrelated to amateur scouting and chose not to accept it. This was initially reported by Aaron Portzline:
Wright was an original #CBJ player. Spent the last six years as player development coach and, more recently, dir of amateur scouting.

It would have been foolish for Kekalainen to bring in his own scouting director after he was hired due to how far along in the 2013 Draft process they were. It was Wright's draft to run, and now that it's come and gone Jarmo can hire his own man. As of now, Paul Castron remains as the team's other Director of Amateur Scouting.
It's really too bad that Wright had to leave the organization. He's an original Jacket and will always be a fan favourite. We'll keep an eye on who his replacement will be at the top of the scouting staff.
