Norfolk 3 at Adirondack 1
Best in the league Norfolk extended their winning streak to 13. The Phantoms ran into the same buzz saw that Springfield saw last weekend, really hurting their playoff chances.
Bridgeport 3 at Connecticut 4 SO
The Whale’s first three shooters all scored, while Bridgeport’s first three came up empty. Goalie Chad Johnson was voted the game’s #1 star.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3 at Providence 2 SO
Former Falcon Colin McDonald scored the only shootout goal, in the sixth round to seal the deal for WBS.
Albany 1 at Syracuse 2 SO
Another former Falcon, Jean-Francois Jacques picked up the shootout winner in this game. In case you were wondering, Antero Nittymaki served as backup to Iiro Tarkki for Syracuse.
Portland 4 at Worcester 6
Worcester scored three first period goals, chasing Justin Pogge from the Portland net and never looked back. Tim Kennedy picked up a goal and two assists to pace the Shark attack.
Tonight on tap in the A, the Falcons return home when they take on Syracuse. Elsewhere in the AHL:
Albany at Adirondack
Like Springfield, Adirondack is in a position where they can’t afford to drop any four pointers.
Currently 9 and 10 in the conference, respectively, Portland felt the sting of walking away with no points on Friday. They’ll need to rebound on Saturday.
