Today in the “A”: Falcons Roster Takes Shape

The roster of the Springfield Falcons continued to take shape over the weekend. The parent Columbus Blue Jackets made their latest roster moves on Saturday, as both clubs prepare for season openers this Friday night.

The Falcons roster (as of Sunday afternoon) now has names that many Jackets fans will recognize, both based on the Traverse City and training camp experience.

Falcons Forwards:
Tomas Kubalik, Dane Byers, Cody Bass, Nick Drazenovic, Andrew Joudrey, Tom Mele, Matt Lombardi, Mike Thomas, Wade MacLeod, Aaron Bogosian, Denny Kearney, Chaz Johnson, Oliver Gabriel

Falcons Defense:
John Moore, Cody Goloubef, Steven Delisle, Dalton Prout, Tristin Llewellyn, Brent Regner, Anton Blomqvist

Falcons Goaltenders:
Allen York, Paul Dainton

Currently on waivers, awaiting assignment are Martin St. Pierre and Nick Holden. Also on waivers is Alexandre Giroux.

With the injury bug having bitten the Jackets hard during the pre-season, there are a few pleasant surprises who according to Coach Scott Arniel will be in the Blue Jackets lineup on Friday night when the Nashville Predators come to town.

Due partially to those injuries, and partially to the hard work they put in, Cam Atkinson, David Savard, Maksim Mayorov and Ryan Johansen will all be in Union Blue on Friday night.
