The Tsar Report – 10/4

Welcome back to this week’s Tsar report! As noted last week, we’ll be tracking the guys playing in the KHL (and other European leagues, should more player make their way out of the US).

No new movement on more players going overseason, though Aaron Portzline reported via Twitter that Fedor Tyutin is considering his options, and Derick Brassard could be heading out if the lockout continues.

Artem Anisimov

AA played in three more games over the past week, and added three helpers and two more PIMs to his stat line, including setting up a goal in the opening minutes vs. Dinamo Minsk on Tuesday.

Sergei Bobrovsky

Bob made his first KHL start of the season on Monday vs. AK Bars Kazan, allowing two goals on 27 shots in a 5-2 win…and as you may have heard, Bob managed to put a pair of assists on his score sheet as well. Can’t wait to see if his talent for breakout passes works on North American ice, too.

Bob’s start on Wednesday against Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk was not quite as offensively dynamic, but still respectable, stopping 26 of 28 before eventually giving up a shootout winner to Nail Yakupov, though if I’m reading the numbers correctly he still managed to keep SKA in the game until the 9th round of shooters.

Nikita Nikitin

Niki6 has now appeared in three games for Avangard Omsk, but has yet to register a point or PIM, though to his credit he also has a flat 0 +/- as well.
