The Hockey News Picks Jackets 30th overall

It probably won’t shock you to hear that The Hockey News has little faith in what, if anything, Columbus might do next season.

Their yearbook predictions put the team in 15th in the West, and they seem to think that the Jackets will beat out the New York Islanders for the worst spot.

It’s a point that more than a few people won’t disagree with, and I won’t hammer too much on it, but I do disagree about one thing they put in their dismissal:

The Blue Jackets traded away their only star and didn’t inspire any fans with the return

Are we allowed to call it revisionist history if they’re talking about something that just happened a few weeks ago?

First and foremost, I think that most fans have generally rallied behind the new additions, particularly Brandon Dubinsky, who has done a good job of making the media circuit and opening himself up for fans on Twitter. I’ve seen quite a few fans finding highlight reel goals from Artem Anisimov (and it sure seems like there are a lot of them) and speculating about how he’ll fit in here.

A lot of fans seem interested to see what Tim Erixon will do.

Are we planning a parade? No, I don’t think so. But I’d say that fans are quite interested in the new guys at this point, and looking forward to seeing them play in our colours.

How do you feel about the predictions from THN? Let us know what you think?
