Hello, friends. It’s time for a tradition unlike any other.
(twinkly piano music abruptly stops)
No, not that. The NHL season! Things officially kicked off last night, with the best team last year, the Carolina Hurricanes, losing in a shootout to Florida, and the worst team, Vancouver, winning in a shootout over Mike Babcock’s (remember him?) Edmonton Oilers. Hockey is weird!
Your humble Columbus Blue Jackets start tomorrow night at home against our rivals, the Buffalo Sabres, who snapped a 15 year playoff drought last season. Will the Jackets return to the postseason themselves this year?
Check out last year’s predictions here. I think we actually did pretty well this time?
