The Cannon Cast Episode 53: NHL Trade Deadline 2020

The 2020 NHL Trade Deadline is behind us and that’s what we’re discussing on this episode of the Cannon Cast! Did the Columbus Blue Jackets do enough? Could they do enough? We talk Sonny Milano, Markus Hannikainen and Devin Shore before breaking down the rest of the Metropolitan Division on a wild deadline day.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • How do we feel about the Sonny Milano for Devin Shore trade?
  • Should the Blue Jackets have gotten something for Markus Hannikainen?
  • Were we underwhelmed by the CBJ’s deadline moves?
  • Did Carolina do as good of a job as everyone said?
  • How does Pittsburgh keep doing this?
  • What does New Jersey have against Wayne Simmonds?
  • What do we think about the rest of the Metro?/

…plus a lot more.

One quick thing: Ryan here. This is my last podcast and post with The Cannon as I’m stepping away for life reasons (nothing bad). I love the rest of the staff and the readership and I’ll miss everyone terribly. I still can’t believe I produced and edited 53 straight weeks of a podcast and wrote some pretty fun posts on here. I’m proud I’ve been able to contribute to this great site in some small way. Thank you for reading and listening. Oh, and I didn’t make this clear in the episode, but the podcast will continue!

Our theme music is the song “Green Eyes,” by Angela Perley and the Howlin’ Moons off of their album “Homemade Vision.” Angela’s newest album is called “4:30” and you should listen to it! She’s also on tour right now, so go check her out at angelaperley.com.

We’re on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and a whole lot more, so check us out on iTunes here or search “Cannon” and “SB Nation” on Apple Podcasts. Leave us a review and a rating! We welcome your thoughts and feedback in the comments, and let us know if you have questions you want us to answer.
