Tonight, happily, we get back to hockey!
Though the Canucks are still uncertain about the status of Dan Hamhuis after he left Game 1 following a "collision" (ie: got cross-checked in the head), it appears Manny Malhotra may be back in the game tonight. If so, it's the capstone on a herculean recovery. Congratulations, Manny, and good luck.
In matters closer to home, the news that Brad Richards won't be re-signed in Dallas has started a fair bit of speculation about his next destination, and both Gallos at Dark Blue Jacket and Jeff at Ten Minute Misconduct make an excellent case on how Scott Howson could appeal to him (and his wallet) while still building up the team's other weak spots.
You may also notice that some lovely "john doe" gentleman with a severe phonics addiction is leaving skeptical comments for both. It's nice to see that Doug MacLean is keeping busy.
Over in Buffalo, they've re-signed Hat Trick machine Drew Stafford to a new four year deal.
For the fashion conscious, have a look at Columbus' 2011 draft hat. Snazzy.
Speaking of the draft, yesterday was the first of two days of testing at the NHL Combine. Check out NHL.com's live blog, or look at how teams like to analyze their results. Interestingly, Scott Howson is pushing to add an on ice component to the testing.
Over at Puck the Media, Columbus came in at #6 in national TV ratings for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
When the Winnipeg "whatevers" are unveiled, how many former Thrasher free agents are going with them? Spector takes a look.
Speaking of which, could Chicago assistant GM Kevin Cheveldayoff be their next GM, ousting Rick Dudley?
Interesting times all over the place. Have a great weekend, and enjoy game 2 tonight!
