So apparently Roberto Luongo has a chip in his skull. It was put there by some black project Canadian military experiment to boost reflexes to superhuman levels, making him the perfect goaltender and to help ensure a cup finally came back to Canada.
Unfortunately, it works on the same frequency as the TD Garden PA system….oops.
Seriously, after Count Chokeula rose up and enveloped the Canucks in his velvety cape of failure, we’ve got one last shot for all the marbles – the first time Boston has even been in a Stanley Cup Finals Game 7, while Vancouver…well…let’s just say they’ve been here before. One way or another, a city will celebrate on Wednesday night, while another city will lament.

In more good news for hockey, Rule 48 was officially amended to remove “blindside” and simply apply to all hits to the head by the competition committee. I hope the board of governors and NHLPA will respond in kind to ratify the change.

Over at Puck Worlds, there’s a great look at Amateur Hockey in the US by state, and the continued growth across the US. Consider how many of our Draft Prospect Profiles this year came from the US National Development Program? That’s a really good sign for American hockey, in my humble opinion.
