Round 2 Game 5 Quickcap: Blue Jackets go down in wild finish, trail series 3-2

It was a Game 5 in Boston Saturday night, with each team, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Boston Bruins, looking to leave for Nationwide Arena with a series lead.

First Period

Three penalties, with two power plays going to Boston. But no score after one period. Cut down the penalties guys, but no harm no foul.

Second Period

Boston started the scoring first, David Krejci trickling one past Sergei Bobrovsky just 1:39 into the second period.

Third Period

Brad Marchand scores. Boo.

Seth Jones got the Blue Jackets on the board, after an initial no goal call on the ice, but video review reversed the ruling. However, Boston responded on a 2-on-1 that resulted in the Bruins regaining the two-goal lead.

And then literal all scoring hell broke loose. A work in GIFs to tell the tale.

Seth Jones.

David Pastrnak.

Ryan Dzingel.

Dean Kukan.

But Boston found the game-winner with 1:28 to go off the stick of David Pastrnak.

Boston caps off a wild one 4-3. Full recap in the a.m. We’ll see you Monday for Game 6.
