After a lengthy break, the Blue Jackets are back on the ice for another round of playoff hockey! In case you missed it, we previewed the forwards and goalies yesterday, and stay tuned for a defense preview at noon today. You should also check out the latest episode of the Cannon Cast which we recorded last night, which you can find at the bottom of this article.

Player to Watch

Brad Marchand

At age 30, Marchand has put together the best season of his already impressive career, tallying a career-high 100 points. He led his team in scoring in Round One, and also led them in penalty minutes for the season, with more than 30 more penalty minutes than the most-penalized Blue Jacket (Pierre-Luc Dubois). Marchand’s game-breaking talent comes with a propensity for questionable hits and the occasional face licking. Yes, face licking.

WTF

Jackets Notes

The full Round Two schedule can be found here ... Markus Nutivaara has traveled with the team to Boston while recovering from his upper body injury. Ryan Murray and Adam McQuaid did not make the trip ... Vladislav Gavrikov missed practice on Tuesday to deal with an immigration matter, but is expected to be available to play if needed ... Artemi Panarin spent his time off practicing with the always-adorable Mr. Riziy:

Better defense than Jack Johnson.

The Other Bench

Boston advanced to this round thanks to a Game 7 defeat of the Toronto Maple Leaves ... Defensemen Connor Clifton and Kevan Miller remain out with injuries ... Boston’s roster features Dublin product Sean Kuraly, who played for the AAA Blue Jackets and for Miami University ... Another familiar face is John Moore, the 2009 CBJ first round pick.
