Thursday and Friday mark the last two home games of the 2017-18 season for the Cleveland Monsters. They will take on their foe, the Manitoba Moose.
These last two games are a chance for the Monsters to put on a show for their fans. We all know the Monsters have the ability to play good hockey. The proof is in how they played against the San Antonio Rampage on Friday, April 6th.
The Moose are currently vying for home ice advantage during the playoffs. While they currently sit in the number two spot in the Central, anything can happen once the season finally ends. The Griffins and Moose have the same win percentage, .603. The IceHogs are a hair behind the two with a win percentage of .595.
In their last 10 games, the Moose are 2-8-0-0. When you pair that with the Central’s battle for home ice advantage, things could get a little aggressive between the Monsters and Moose. Plus, these two teams have no love for one another. The last time they played each other at the end of the season a brawl broke out between the Monsters on the ice and the Moose on the bench.
Both teams have an atrocious record when they are trailing after two periods of play. The Moose have yet to win a game all season when trailing after two (0-18-2-2). While the Monsters are 2-33-1-1. Yes, when trailing after two, the Monsters have lost almost half of their games this season.
The Monsters should have one goal for the final two home games of the season.
