Make sure to take a nap tonight Jackets fans. It’s going to be a late night as our boys in blue play a 10pm game against the Vegas Golden Knights.

This will be a historical first meeting between the two teams.

While this is the first meeting between the two, there are some familiar faces on the Golden Knights. Two former Jackets, William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault, have been leading the Golden Knights to victory on a nightly basis.

Currently Karlsson leads Vegas in goals with 25. He is also sits in 6th place in the league for goals  Marchessault leads the team in assists (27) and points (44).

Karlsson and Marchessault aren’t the only ones the Jackets have to worry about tonight. David Perron, Reilly Smith, and James “The Real Deal” Neal have played exceptionally well for the Golden Knights this season. As of late, Neal has been the standout on the team. Over the past six games, he has scored four goals.

At home, the Golden Knights have a record of 18-2-2. The Jackets have a road record of 10-10-3 this season. Will the Jackets be the 5th team to hand the Golden Knights a loss at home?

They can if they lock it down on the power play and the penalty kill. Vegas’ special teams is the crack in their armor. If the Jackets can capitalize on the flaws of the Golden Knights pp and pk units, they will be just fine.

Also, put pucks on net and score goals.
