Cleveland Monsters; 13-21-3-3, 32 points, .400 win%, 7th Central, 15th West
vs
Iowa Wild; 19-13-7-3, 48 points, .571 win%, 3rd Central, 6th West
The Cleveland Monsters and Iowa Wild meet for the sixth time this season tonight. The Wild are currently on a three-game point streak. The Monsters are fresh off a big shutout win over the Milwaukee Admirals.
Terry Broadhurst sits one goal behind Alex Broadhurst and Miles Koules for the team lead. The fun sibling rivalry is heating up. Look for A. Broadhurst to try and light things up tonight since T.Broadhurst scored a hattrick on Tuesday.
With the addition of Nathan Gerbe and Tyler Motte to the roster, the Monsters’ lines will likely be a bit different tonight. The first and second lines will probably stay the same with Motte and Gerbe entering the third line. The Wild are an aggressive team. Tonight’s fourth line will probably consist of Maletta, Gallant, and Scott/Hodgson.
Sam Anas (6) and Cal O’Reilly (5) are scoring at a point per game rate in this series. While the closest points per game player for the Monsters is Doyle Somerby with three.
The Monsters must constantly attack the net and scoop up rebounds. Iowa knows how to run up a score. On the flip side, once the game gets away from the Wild, they aren’t sure how to get it back. Their record when trailing after one is 4-8-0-0. They have yet to win a game when trailing after two.
Cleveland must come out swinging and capitalize on every mistake the Wild make to sate away with a win tonight.
