vs
Binghamton Devils, 3-3-0-0, 6 points, .500 win%, 2nd North, 8th East
There are two things the Cleveland Monsters need to do to win tonight’s game against the Binghamton Devils.
Take Minimal Penalities
For six games into the season, the Monsters have spent an awful lot of time on the penalty kill. While the pk unit isn’t awful, it doesn’t help any one out when you play down a man almost a full period. If the Monsters continue to take an abundance of penalties, Coach Madden will need to start rolling the lines more. The top line guys are going to get tired quick if they are constantly out there during the pk and regular shifts.
Stop Yegor Yakolev
If the Monsters don’t shut Yegor Yakolev down within the first few minutes of the game, they are going to regret it. Once he gets on fire there is no way to dampen his energy. The best thing the Monsters could do is prevent Yakolev from entering the neutral zone.
