There is good news and bad news for the Monsters current situation.
Let's start with the bad news. In the past ten games, the Monsters have won only one. Also, they will be without Sonny Milano until after the holiday roster freeze is over.
Now, onto the good news! The season is not even close to over. There is time to turn things around. The Monsters have played the least amount of games in the Central division with 24. Tonight's game will be 25. The rest of the teams have played between 27 and 29 games thus far.
Even better, Tyler Motte is back with the Monsters until after the holiday freeze. Losing Milano and all of the offense he generates was tough. Gaining Motte will make the loss of Milano bearable. In fact, when Motte was with the Monsters at the beginning of the team things just seemed to click with the team.
I doubt C.J. Motte will start in net for the Iowa Wild for the second game in a row. If he does, it will definitely be a thrilling Motte vs Motte match.
The Monsters fired off a lot of shots in the last meeting between the two on Monday. Yet, no goal was scored. Tonight, they need to turn shots into goals.
