Milwaukee Admirals; 21-16-4-0, 46 points, .561win%, 5th Central, 10th West
I’m going to keep this simple for everyone. Both the Cleveland Monsters and Milwaukee Admirals have lost their last two games. The Admirals are looking to get back into a playoff spot while the Monsters are looking to get out of last place. Knowing this, the Admirals’ level of compete is going to be off the charts. If the Monsters want a shot at winning, they must play three great periods of hockey. They cannot play a good period here, a good period there, a good shift here, a good shift there. The Monsters must run a tight ship across the board.
Bobby Butler is still riding a high from his Olympic bid. Trying to slow him down at this point is going to be tough but it can be done. The Monsters must also keep an eye on Frederick Gaudreau and Trevor Smith. They both have five points in the season series against the Monsters. Plus, both have set up many plays which led to goals by other teammates.
Carter Camper leads the way for the Monsters in the season series against the Admirals. He is scoring at a point per game pace.
Look for Jeff Zatkoff to make his debut in net tonight for the Monsters. He was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets yesterday in exchange for future considerations.
Cameron Gaunce will be playing in his 500th career AHL game.
