Tuesday, September 30, 2025 – 7:00 PM EDT
Nationwide Arena – Columbus, Ohio
TV: FanDuel Sports Network Ohio; Radio: 97.1 FM

Washington Capitals (3-0-0)

at

Columbus Blue Jackets (2-3-0)

Previously

The Jackets lost 4-1 in Pittsburgh, but in a bonus shootout to end Marc-Andre Fleury’s career, Luca Del Bel Belluz scored on the final (unofficial) shot the future Hall of Famer faced.

Rosters

Columbus

The exact roster is not set at the time of this writing, but with the camp roster down to just 25 (13 forwards/9 defensemen/3 goalies) we can assume most of the expected regulars play, and it will be up to the coaches to pick which bubble players get a shot. Expect a large number of Monsters to return for Saturday’s rematch in DC.

Washington

Again, no roster set at the time of writing, but this preview says that Tom Wilson and John Carlson will be expected to make their preseason debut.

Players to Watch

Jet Greaves: Elvis Merzlikins played the entire game on Saturday night, so tonight should be Jet’s turn. Will he fare better?

Yegor Chinakhov: Chinny has been solid in preseason, so it’s disappointing seeing him on the fourth line in practice. Hopefully he gets another chance to prove himself…and isn’t held back by his linemates. Fortunately, Lundestrom and Wood each can score a little bit if they can get the puck out of their own end.
