Welcome back, hockey, how I missed you! Sure, it’s just preseason, but it’s better than nothing. Note that live video of the home preseason games will be streaming on Fox Sports Go and BlueJackets.com.
The big story is we get to see the debut of Artemi Panarin, and it happens to come against his former team. It is expected he will play on a line tonight with Nick Foligno and rookie Pierre-Luc Dubois. This is a great opportunity for both Panarin and Dubois to impress the NWA crowd and the CBJ leadership (in PLD’s case).
Other players to watch: Tyler Motte and Vitaly Abramov both have a chance to make the NHL roster. A solid preseason will help.
On the other side, we may see familiar faces such as Brandon Saad, Anton Forsberg, or Artem Anisimov. Another player to watch is rookie Alex DeBrincat, last seen leading the Baby Blackhawks to the championship in Traverse City with an OT winner against the Blue Jackets prospects.
