at
St. Louis Blues (1-1-0)
Notes
The Blue Jackets’ preseason slate shifts to the road for the first time as they battle the St. Louis Blues. Both teams enter play 1-1 so far through their first two preseason games. Columbus lost to the Sabres 4-1 Monday, and beat the Blackhawks 4-1 Tuesday. St. Louis lost to the Stars 5-3 Tuesday, beat the Wild 3-2 Wednesday.
After six-consecutive years to the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Blues failed to qualify for the tournament in 2017-18, forcing change to the Central Division foes. Acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Sabres July 1, Ryan O’Reilly comes aboard, joining free agent newcomers Chad Johnson, David Perron, and Tyler Bozak for 2018-19.

What We’re Looking For?
Well, it’s just preseason so wins and losses don't matter too much. But let’s see what young newcomers can do with their ice-time. In the net, the Jackets have given action to Brad Thiessen, Matiss Kivlenieks, Joseph Raaymakers, and Jean-Francois Berube. It appears Bobrovsky will see his first action tonight.
Zach Werenski has been cleared for ‘controlled contact’ as he continues to get ready for the season after last year’s shoulder injury. Artemi Panarin is still dealing with a neck strain. Ryan Murray, Nathan Gerbe, and Kivlenieks are all dealing with minor injuries.
Johnson will play the entire game for St. Louis.
