Oscar Dansk is Coming Back to America

The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today they have assigned goaltender Oscar Dansk to the Cleveland Monsters.

Dansk was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the second round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. After being drafted, Dansk spent two seasons playing in the OHL for the Erie Otters. During those two seasons, he had a record of 40-32-7 and a GAA of 3.25. Dansk also earned six shutouts.

He then would spend 21 games playing for the Springfield Falcons during the 2014-15 season. At the end of the season, Dansk posted a record of 7-7-0 and had a GAA of 3.25.

For the past two seasons, Dansk has played in the Swedish Hockey League for Rogle BK. In 60 games with Rogle BK, he had a record of 18-34-4. Dansk also had a 2.81 GAA and earned four shutouts.

If the Monsters make the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs, Dansk will likely be the backup to Brad Thiessen in the event that Anton Forsberg is recalled by the Jackets to be the third goalie for the NHL playoffs.

Also, this is the final season in Dansk’s contract with the Blue Jackets. They are probably trying to get one final look at him before free agency begins.
