NHL Power Rankings

The Power Rankings are now out for week 4. Keep in mind they were posted within the last day or two so they don’t reflect the current record of the league.

All in all I’d say the team is finally starting to gain some respect especially from media outlets where they usually don’t (CBS Sports, get with the program!)

If you’re still cautious and optimistic thats fine, but if you’re still in doubt, check your pulse. Good things are coming to Columbus.

SBN – 11th out of 15 (Last week: 9th)

“If you get mathematical with it, the Blue Jackets are not as bad as you think they are.”

Yahoo! Sports – 20th out of 30 (Last week: 25th)

“This team had a decent record after 10 games, especially considering the fact they were averaging a 29th-worst 2.3 goals per those 10 contests.”

ESPN – 16th out of 30 (Last week: 16th)

“Somehow keeping head above water despite 26th-ranked offense and 26th-ranked power play.”

CBS Sports – 28th out of 30 (Last week: 24th)

“No offense, but the Jackets’ leading scorer — Chris Clark — doesn’t have a goal and ranks 113th in the league overall.”

TSN – 25th out of 30 (Last week: 26th)

“The Blue Jackets’ leading scorer? RW Chris Clark, a healthy scratch for the first two games of the season, who now has six assists in eight games. C Derick Brassard is warming up, however, with four points in the last four games.
Key Injuries: D Mike Commodore (hand), LW Kristian Huselius (lower body).”

The Dispatch – 16th out of 30 (Last week: 21st)

“Until the Blue Jackets’ top offensive talents get going — we’re talking to you, Rick Nash and Antoine Vermette — it’s going to be a bumpy ride.”

The Hockey News – 10th out of 30 (Last week: 14th)

“Backup goalie Mathieu Garon outplaying No. 1 Steve Mason

What say you, fans, are the latest rankings fair, unfair, or is it still too soon to decide?
